Ever wanted to take a look behind the scenes at The Electric Cinema? Now's your chance as we offer a special weekend tour of this historic building, including a talk on the cinema's fascinating history.

Find out about the building's long and tumultuous history, discover what part it played during World War II, and take a look at the projection rooms and the building's basement, featuring all kinds of cinematic paraphernalia collected from well over 100 years of existence.

The tour will begin with an on screen presentation in Screen 1 taking you through the building's different incarnations and owners - including some juicy stories from the cinema's eccentric life - followed by a guided tour of the cinema that includes the projection booth, the basement, the converted flat above the cinema and the proscenium arch behind Screen 1.

The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Photography is permitted - but please no video recording! Not appropriate for children under 12 years of age, due to adult themes discussed.
